3rd Southeast Europe PPP Infrastructure Forum

Building for future growth

The 21st century will be remembered as the “Infrastructure Century”, with an unprecedented number of projects being developed across the world to meet growing socio-economic demands. Southeast Europe (SEE) is no different, with many countries outlining ambitious infrastructure development plans, including Transport, Social, Energy and Environmental projects. With increasing pressures on public finances and budget accountability, there is a need for private sector involvement. This high-level forum will connect public and private sector stakeholders from the SEE region with international experts, in order to discuss the viability of the outlined infrastructure projects, offer best practice support and identify new cooperative opportunities. Focus sectors include Transport, Energy, Environmental and Social Infrastructure.Despite apparent need and ambitions for infrastructure development in SEE, there are a number of serious obstacles impeding project delivery, for example: complex legal frameworks, limited public sector capacity, misunderstanding or misuse of Public Private Partnership (PPP) concept, and inconsistent and unfair risk sharing obligations. Our 2013 forum will address these obstacles and offer an in-depth analysis of SEE infrastructure development plans. Speakers and participants will include National and Local government, infrastructure funds, financiers and sponsors, construction firms and concessionaires, regional advisors and legal firms.
