The Swedish Institute for Food and Biotechnology (SIK) in Gothenburg, Sweden has been selected for hosting a professisonal media training for food and nutrition researchers on the 12th - 13th June.
SIK is an industrial research institute owned by SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden. The purpose of the Institute is to strengthen the competitiveness of food industry. MAITRE has selected the Institute to give the possibility to its researchers and other specialists in the food area to improve their communication skills and to deal with the media to reach a wider public.The seminar is organised by MAITRE- Media Actions for the International Training of Researchers, a European project supported by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programme, aiming to give food and nutrition research a higher profile in Europe, by providing professional media training for reseachers.The seminar will be held by senior professional journalists and will give the researchers hands-on experience and practical sessions on how to improve their communication ability to convey news and outcomes of their research to the general public. The seminar will give the researchers also the possibility to get into a network of other researchers and science journalists.
