On the 3rd and 4th of July 2013 MAITRE will move on to the UK, in Surrey to help food scientists and nutrition specialists from the University of Surrey to improve their communication skills and to disseminate their scientific results.
MAITRE media training will be hosted by the University of Surrey in July and the participants will experience real lessons and practical sessions on how to improve their communication ability to convey the importance of their research to the general public, through the media.The seminar hold by professional journalists, who will focus on hands-on and practical sessions to give researchers the opportunity to immediately test their communication abilities and improvements.The seminar is organised and promoted by the EU-funded project MAITRE aiming at giving food and nutrition research a higher profile in Europe, by providing professional media training for reseachers.The MAITRE project keeps on following the participants even after the seminar, giving them the possibility to access an online platform to build network and create a longstanding collaboration between researchers and science journalists in order to reduce the gap between science and media.
