European media training in Berlin for food and nutrition researchers
On the 10th - 11th of September, MAITRE is organising a media training for food and nutrition researchers at the Institute of Animal Nutrition in Berlin, Germany.
Conducted by a professional journalist, the MAITRE professional media training will provide researchers in the food and nutrition area with practical and directly applicable advice for dealing with the media in general.Through hands-on sessions, the attendees will learn the concept of a press release, will practice training for short on-camera news announcements, and will rehearse interview situations, such as on camera, on radio, or in panel debates.Funded by the European Commission under theSeventh Framework Programme (FP7), the MAITRE project ultimately aims to contribute to the promotion of food research knowledge in Europe, by improving scientists’ ability to communicate to the media. The Institute of Animal Nutrition investigates animal nutrition in six main research areas. The main emphasis is on the digestive physiology of animals, the effect of feed additives on the growth and health of animals, as well as the hitherto little explored field of nutrition effects on the immune system of domestic animals.
