Small & Mid Scale LNG Projects & Infrastructure Development Masterclass (TT)

The Master Class aims to provide a comprehensive view of small to mid-scale gas/LNG.

More recently, small and mid-scale LNG projects have become more prominent. New uses besides power generation like marine and road transportation, new technologies, environmental and safety standards are rapidly being developed. Understanding the technology, development and economics of small to mid-scale gas/LNG projects will be vital to assess the prospects of using gas as an alternative fuel. The Master Class aims to provide a comprehensive view of small to mid-scale gas/LNG. It will introduce the issues related to global hydrocarbon developments, new drivers, trends from a complete supply chain point of view, how they could impact on regional and local power markets, presenting the question on the role and feasibility of gas/LNG as an alternative fuel in power generation as well as transport. The traditional global LNG projects are large-scale and capital intensive, and take fairly long time to completion. Accessibility to LNG would therefore be limited to countries and regions that can invest in large-scale LNG projects, which typically are invested by major oil companies with government support. Small and mid-scale LNG plants are used primarily to meet local or regional energy requirements, which have recently been gaining traction in providing gas as alternative fuel. These projects can be brought on line in relatively short period of time, use relatively simple technology, and do not require a very large investment in infrastructure. For example smaller LNG tankers, barges and trucks can bring this fuel to regions that are not connected by natural gas pipelines. This course is specially structured in 5 modules and 2 case studies: MODULE 1:        GLOBAL GAS / LNG MARKET OVERVIEW MODULE 2:        TECHNICAL OVERVIEW OF LNG SUPPLY CHAIN MODULE 3:        TECHNICAL CHALLENGES, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENTAL AND REGULATORY CHALLENGES MODULE 4:        ECONOMICS OF SMALL TO MID-SCALE LNG MODULE 5:        OUTLOOK FOR SMALL TO MID-SCALE LNG MARKET CASE STUDY 1:  SMALL SIZE LNG AND INTEGRATED POWER FACILITY CASE STUDY 2:  MEDIUM SIZE “OFFSHORE” BASED LNG AND POWER FACILITY Seats are limited!
