The DHC+ Technology Platform is hosting its 2nd International DHC+ Research Conference under the motto 'REDEVELOP, RECREATE, RETHINK' on 5-6 November 2013.The conference will bring together research, business and politics and concentrate on innovation, development and research aiming at facilitating efficient and sustainable District Heating and Cooling (DHC) in countries throughout Europe.Stakeholders from across Europe and beyond are going to present their approaches and solutions as well as international projects in which DHC+ is involved in. The conference is the main research event in the sector on the European level and offers a great opportunity to all participants to foster the sector's contribution to a more sustainable Europe.Day One: Tuesday, 5 November 2013The first day starts with the opening session with Andreea Strachniescu (DG Energy), Agustin Escardino Malva (DG Research) and others, followed by the plenary session on the question Électricity and heat - the rival brothers?´ The afternoon consists of parallel sessions. During these sessions a variety of experts and professionals will present and discuss innovative technologies and concepts from different areas concerning DHC, including efficiency measures, interactive solutions, the involvement of consumers and intelligent construction.Day Two: Wednesday, 6 November 2013Day two will comprise of one session about cross-cutting concepts, i.e. ICT or integrated research, and the launch of the 2nd International DHC+ Student Awards, including presentations by excellent young researchers. The DHC+ Steering Committee Meeting is foreseen to take place in the afternoon following the closing session of the 2nd International DHC+ Research Conference. Stakeholders who are considering becoming a member of the DHC+ are also invited.
