On 22 January, the European Commission will present its much-anticipated package on the EU’s energy and climate framework for 2030, along with the Communication for a European Industrial Renaissance. Against this background, the aim of this high-level policy dialogue is to discuss what energy and climate targets for 2030 are economically justifiable, how to avoid negative impacts on competitiveness and energy prices, and how to effectively address carbon leakage.
