Today the EU imports 53% of the energy it consumes and the figure related to gas amounts to 66%. The most pressing energy security of supply issue is the strong dependence from one external supplier. Six EU member states are particularly vulnerable to energy supply disruptions as they import 100% of their gas from Russia. The conference will present opportunities to witness how cities from these most exposed countries are taking action to wean themselves off Russian gas, through smart investments in sustainable buildings and transport, renewable heating networks and an overall more intelligent city planning. The event is divided into two sessions: one focusing on cities
