Understanding and Responding to the Financial Crisis

The aftermaths of the financial crises of 2007/09 continue. This conference will focus on understanding the causes and consequences of the financial crisis and the role of financialisation in the financial crisis. It will be concerned with the policy agendas towards the financial stability through regulation and macroeconomic policies.Themes of the conference:+ The understanding of the causes and consequences of the financial crisis of 2007/09 and its after effects in individual countries and across key sectors, and the roles of financialisation in the generation and transmission of the financial crisis.+ Policies and policy development for a financial system operating in the interests of society. Conference sessions:+ Financialisation and financial crisis: the national experiences+ Financialisation and financial crisis: sectoral experiences+ Regulating the financial sector in an era of financialisation+ Financialisation and industry+ Financialisation and environmental sustainability+ Macroeconomic policies and financial stability under financialisation  Practical information:+ When: Thursday 16th and Friday 17th October 2014+ Where: JM Hotel Warsaw, Poland + Conference fee:€45 per day (€90 for two days) to include lunch and refreshments (PhD students €35 per day).Dinner (€20) will be available as an additional option during registration. + Accommodation:Please consult the registration webpage below or the FESSUD website.
