The European Investment Bank (EIB) will host a series of events on Europe’s innovation and competitiveness under the title ‘Momentum for Europe’.On day one, Monday March 2, participants are invited to a policy debate among relevant stakeholders on high-tech strategy and policies and smart infrastructure contributing to Europe’s economic growth and global competitiveness. EIB President Werner Hoyer is honoured to welcome Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission as well as an impressive array of leading CEO speakers across industries.On day two, Tuesday March 3, participants may register for a series of workshopsfeaturing EIB and EIF supported projects ranging from risk capital for innovative start-ups to long-term finance for established large corporates. As a participant, you will be provided with hands-on information on tailor made financial solutions for your projects and given the opportunity to draw on the experience of our speakers, whose projects are well advanced, allowing for particular benefit to those whose projects are being launched.In parallel, the EIB Economics Conference will take place on Tuesday 3 March. This annual event will bring together high level policy-makers, economists and leading market players to openly and freely discuss the most pressing economic challenges facing Europe. This year’s conference will focus on ‘Investment and Investment Finance in Europe - Investing in Competitiveness and Innovation’. Bringing insights from different angles, participants will share their views and experiences on the challenge of restoring EU competitiveness, structural investment needs and the nature of constraints on investment.
