TC SENSE

SENSE project is an 8-day training course which will take place in Palermo (Italy) from 6th to 14th of June 2015. It will involve 32 participants representing 21 organizations coming from 13 EU and 8 South Mediterranean countries.

The current economic crisis is entailing an increase in unemployment rates across Europe, especially among young people. In such a context greater attention is being paid to youth entrepreneurship as a tool with high potential for employment creation, as the “social entrepreneurship” model can appeal to young people and give them the chance to provide innovative responses to the current economic, social and environmental challenges. The main objectives of the project are: Promoting and encouraging social entrepreneurship as a response to youth unemployment.Providing youth workers with new tools and innovative methodologies which will be be transferred to youth in their local communities.Exchanging best practices in the field of social entrepreneurship and use of social media in EuroMed countriesFostering the intercultural, intergenerational dialogue and understanding, economic development and social inclusion of youth.Promoting deeper knowledge about European programmes and funding opportunities for youth and social entrepreneurs for the EuroMed area.Facilitating the establishment of new networks at EuroMed level.Through the exchange of good practices and case studies among the participants from EU and South Mediterranean countries, the participants will seize the opportunity to establish networks for further joint collaboration. During the training, an innovative methodology will be used, combining non-formal activities and practical training through virtual tools in order to foster participants’ involvement through creative thinking methods, communication-based methods and peer-learning activities. These methods and activities will allow participants to learn from each other, transferring good practices, experiences and knowledge. The project will have a strong impact at all levels: at local/regional/national level, it will bring a positive change by encouraging young people’s initiative through the development of new skills that will be transferred from youth workers to local youth and, in the long term, is expected to have a social impact by supporting the establishment of new social enterprises and the creation of new employment opportunities.
