The EU wants to reduce its green house gas emissions and become a low carbon circular economy. By becoming more energy efficient, sustainable housing can help cities reach the EU’s energy and environmental goals.
In the coming autumn the European Commission will put forward a proposal for revised directives on Energy Efficiency and on Energy Performance in Buildings. What impact will this have for the creation of sustainable cites for the future? And how does this link to the circular economy package?
This seminar will provide an opportunity to discuss consequences for cities and the housing sector, and highlight innovative solutions. We will engage in a debate on priorities for the future European legislation in order to reach ambitious climate goals together with representatives from the European Commission and the housing sector.
Besides discussing the political framework, the event will highlight solutions and give insights on how we can improve our building stock while taking into account all dimensions of sustainability.
