Increasing impact from publicly funded research

Lessons from the bioeconomy

Join us to discuss how to ensure that publicly funded bioeconomy research has a positive impact on society in the European Parliament on 28 June. The Dinner Debate will be hosted by Lieve Wierinck MEP, member of the Industry, Research and Energy Committee, and shadow rapporteur on the European Parliament’s assessment of the implementation of Horizon 2020.

The debate will be animated by the partners of the ProBIO project, who will be joined by Rosalinde VAN DER VLIES (Head of Unit for Evaluation in the Policy Development and Coordination Directorate, DG Research), Bernd REICHERT (Head of Unit for Horizon 2020 SME, EASME), and Jyrki SUOMINEN (Deputy Head of Unit for Strategy in the Bioeconomy Directorate, DG Research).

This event will give you the opportunity to debate the barriers to achieving impact from research results, the most appropriate ways to support result commercialisation, and the necessary features of the Horizon 2020 follow-up programme.

The ProBIO project partners are a multi-disciplinary team built around highly specialised green innovation consultancies, with deep experience in innovation support, will also contribute to the discussions. ProBIO has explored over 400 projects funded by the Knowledge Based Bioeconomy (KBBE) FP7 Programme, to identify the most advanced research results, and provide result owners with individual coaching to help them to commercialise their products and services.

Registration is mandatory, but free of charge. Please note that due to limited space, we reserve the right to limit the number of attendees per organisation. To register, please write an email to: [email protected].
