The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) put forward by the UN in 2015 are an explicit call on all sectors within societies around the globe to mobilize and apply their creativity and innovation to address and solve today’s challenges in our ‚one’ world. Especially the unspeakable plight of vulnerable groups affected by forced migration raises fundamental questions of humanity and appropriate action. It is now and without doubt a critical time to start bringing together major stakeholders, decision makers, authorities and practitioners to identify authentic approaches to collaboration. Cagintua e.V. and VENROB e.V. are therefore extremely pleased to host the New Alliances Conference in Potsdam / Brandenburg on September 12 - 13, 2017 connecting representatives and decision makers from NGOs, Civil Society Organisations and key sector institutions from the German state of Brandenburg and selected regions of this year’s focus countries Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroon.
The New Alliances Conference will encourage and facilitate robust and constructive exchange on SDGs-related subjects of good governance, democratisation and political transition processes, economic partnerships, migration policies, as well as critically review the complex situation of refugees in the four regional contexts. In practically analyzing the multidimensional issues surrounding the reality of today’s migration processes New Alliances wants to shed light on the „communalities across the divide“ - the contextual challenges facing the regions - as well as focus on sustainable strategies to overcome fragmentation and instead join forces.
To join the conference please register as soon as possible. Registration information as well as a detailed conference programme are available at www.newalliances.net (conference/registration).
