Education priorities Bulgarian EU Presidency: Key Competences for the 21st Century in the spotlight

Join us at the Liaison Agency Flanders-Europe (vleva) on the 14th of December 2017 and discover what the Bulgarian Presidency will do for education in Europe.

In the first half of 2018, Bulgaria will hold the presidency of the Council of the EU. The Bulgarian presidency will focus on promoting the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the development of skills and competences for the 21st century. In addition, they will work on promoting common European values and social inclusion, on confirming the role of teachers as key players in the education process and on the wide introduction of ICT in ;

You will discover all this and more at the event Education priorities of the Bulgarian presidency on Thursday 14 December in the morning. This event is in co-organisation with the Ministry of Education and Training of the Flemish Government.

10:00 Education priorities of the Bulgarian EU Presidency by Mimi Daneva, Chief Expert in the Protocol and International Cooperation Directorate at the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria 

10:30 Overview of the achievements of the Estonian EU Presidency by Wouter Kerkhove, Counsellor for education and training at the General Representation of the Flemish Government at the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the EU 

10:45 Results of the public consultation on the review of the 2006 Framework of Key Competences for Lifelong Learning by Ivana Vrhovski, Policy Officer at the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission

11:30 Key Competences in a Flemish educational context, back-to-back presentation by Roos Herpelinck from the Flemish Education Council (Vlor) and the Flemish Pupil Association (VSK)
