Fake News & other AI Challenges - the News Media in the 21st Century

How AI and language technology can help combat disinformation and safeguard reliable news.

This event will showcase how AI-powered technologies can help news organisations safeguard the truthfulness and trustworthiness of their sources, stay in control of the news gathering and delivery process and empower their newsrooms, their journalists and, ultimately, their readership.

Specifically, the conference will discuss the ethical & technical challenges of combatting fake news and investigate new business models for quality journalism and quality news. Relevant findings will be compiled into a publication released after the conference.

Organised by LT-Innovate, SAIL LABS and Eurosint, the conference features keynote speakers such as Peter Cochrane, and Vincent Tripodi (Associated Press). The participation of both problem owners ( Red Cross, BBC and other Media) and solution providers ( Sail Labs, TU Wien etc.) will allow for a lively interaction and discussion.
