In 2020, the EU released its Hydrogen Strategy for a climate-neutral Europe, highlighting the important role renewable and low-carbon hydrogen will play in decarbonizing industry, transport, power generation and buildings. The strategy envisions an open and competitive EU hydrogen market by 2030, with hydrogen comprising 13-14% of Europe’s energy mix by 2050.
