This not only requires strong continuing relations with the rest of Europe – the UK’s biggest and fasting growing scientific collaborator in terms of co-authorship – but a commitment to engage globally in areas of shared research strength, innovation and technology, infrastructure and global challenges. This event is an opportunity to reflect on the UK’s current position and where it needs to get to in order to meet these ambitions.
