Reducing the use of pesticides and promoting environmental-friendly practices such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a commitment that both the EU agricultural sector and EU institutions are willing to undertake, as these practices can contribute to deliver on the EU’s Green Deal ambitions. Sugar beet and maize growers are well aware of the positive effects that these practices have on biodiversity protection. Techniques such as optimising crop rotation, precision agriculture, as well as the use of pelleted and treated seeds allow for a much more targeted use of Plant Protection Products. Indeed, Agriculture & Progress Platform members use and support such practices. Updating EU rules is an important step to make them more widely spread and accessible to all. This webinar aims to share insights on the use of environmental-friendly practices that promote the reduced use of pesticides in the EU, with a particular focus on Integrated Pest Management.
