The project SAPPHIRE - STEM education platform is a strategic partnership in the field of school education, co-funded by the European Commission, within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, involving eight organisations from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, North Macedonia and Portugal and coordinated by the Mathematic High School "Acad. Kiril Popov' in Plovdiv (Bulgaria).

The SAPPHIRE project aims to promote the development and integration in educational systems, focusing on secondary education, of STEM subjects, their teaching and pedagogical principles. Taking into consideration the different level of development and educational needs in different European countries, the project has produced a Handbook that aims to support educators to introduce STEM teaching in their classrooms regardless of the infrastructure and resources they have available.
