Food production and AMR: Improving animal welfare to save human lives

In this event we will discuss the impact of increasing animal welfare standards to reduce the need for antibiotics in food production and how this directly affects human health.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) places a huge burden on the healthcare sector and presents a challenge for healthcare professionals who are losing one of the most critical tools in modern medicine - antibiotics. One of the drivers of AMR is the overuse and misuse of antibiotics in food production.

In this event we will discuss the impact of increasing animal welfare standards to reduce the need for antibiotics in food production and how this directly affects human health.

This is a free HCWH Europe event - prior registration is required. If you do not have your own badge to enter the European Parliament, you must register by 18 April for in-person; Attendees registering after this date without a badge will only be able to attend online.
