Overview
The School is designed to offer two weeks “full immersion” in user charges regulation of local public services ( waste, water, public transport, district heating, ..) and and is mainly addressed to researchers, postgraduate and PhD students, representatives and officials of national and local regulatory authorities, Central Public Administrations, regional and local governments, staff of international organizations, NGOs and consultancies engaged in the design and implementation of regulatory reforms.
Programme
The programme is designed as an intensive workshop, combining theoretical and practical courses. More specifically it is divided into three parts: theory, economic models and analytical instruments for local regulation; sector analysis ( water cycle, urban waste) and country-based cases studies; local site-visits and a practical experience with virtual regulatory case studies developed by working groups.
The 2023 edition will focus on climate change and the future of energy
Deadlines and fees
The deadline for the submission of the application form is 31 May 2023 (31 March 2023 for the early bird fee).
The fee includes tuition, case study materials, visits included in the programme and ten lunches.
Early bird fee: 990 euros (Application and full payment within 31 March 2023 - 5 pm CET)
Full fee: 1490 euros (Application and full payment within 31 May 2023 - 5 pm CET)
Scholarships
The Turin School of Regulation recognises the need for all countries to improve the governance and regulation of local public services. TSR is committed to provide high quality and affordable training, by promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. As such, the Turin School supports free access to the Summer School for three successful candidates based on their presentation of motivation, including career prospects, investment in networking and training, as well as broader contribution to the field of regulation. The scholarship covers fee and accommodation at the University residence.
