Launch of the OECD report “Beating Cancer Inequalities in the EU: Spotlight on cancer prevention and early detection”

Join us for the launch event of the OECD report “Beating Cancer Inequalities in the EU: Spotlight on cancer prevention and early detection”, one of the milestones of the European Cancer Inequalities Registry.

As one of the 10 flagships of Europe's Beating Cancer Plan, the European Cancer Inequalities Registry aims to identify trends, disparities and inequalities between Member States and population groups. In highlighting challenges and specific areas of action, it helps Member States identify respective gaps and shortcomings in cancer prevention and care, which can in turn guide better investments and interventions at EU, national and regional level.

The Registry was launched in February 2022 with its first milestone, the ECIR Data Tool, which allows users to explore cancer inequality indicators in an interactive way. The Registry reached its second milestone in February 2023, with the publication of 29 Country Cancer Profiles (EU27, Norway and Iceland), prepared by the OECD.

We are now pleased to launch the third milestone of the initiative, the OECD report on “Beating Cancer Inequalities in the EU: Special focus on cancer prevention and early detection”. This key publication examines policies and actions to tackle cancer across the EU, with a focus on addressing preventable risk factors and improving screening and early diagnosis.

This event is kindly hosted by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), one of our partners in this initiative. It will be held in English.

We are looking forward to welcoming you online.
