World OSH Day: Hungary discusses carcinogens and Workers’ Exposure Survey results

Within the context of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, our Hungarian focal point Ministry for Economic Development will host a conference in Budapest on 29 April, focusing on dangerous substances, particularly carcinogens.

 

Hungary’s participation in EU-OSHA’s Workers’ exposure survey on cancer risk factors in Europe (WES) will be highlighted, with the Hungarian project leader presenting the objectives, methodology and initial results. Presentations on potential carcinogenic chemical exposure in the logistics sector and prevention of occupational accidents in Hungary will be also ;

The conference, one of a number of events across Hungary aimed at raising awareness of occupational safety and health (OSH), will be opened by the state secretary responsible for employment policy. Additionally, the winner of the national ‘Safe Workplace’ competition will be announced, showcasing good practices in handling dangerous chemicals.
