EIC Corporate Day with Galp

The European Innovation Council and Galp, the Portuguese energy giant, invite EIC companies to apply for a new EIC Corporate Day, which will include an exclusive pitching and matching session with Galp decision makers on the 17th and 18th July 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal. Galp is seeking for innovative and market-ready products/services that can significantly contribute to reducing, avoiding, or removing CO2 emissions and advancing the global energy transition.

The EIC Corporate Partnership Programme includes tailored preparatory sessions for the selected EIC companies on their business proposals, pitch and deck presentations by international experts, with the inside guidance of Galp. On the 17th and 18th of July, the EIC founders will enjoy focused networking opportunities and a dedicated pitching session followed by one-on-one meetings with high-level decision-makers of the Portuguese corporation. Finally, EIC companies will also benefit from post-event support to maximise the impact of their business proposals.

Opportunities for selected EIC companies:

  • Privileged access to Galp high-level decision makers.
  • Possibility to initiate strategic partnerships with Galp and enter new markets.
  • Networking with the Unicorn Factory Lisbon platform and its affiliates.
  • Access to funding opportunities from Galp CVC and Energy Impact Partners (EIP).
  • Personalised support including a group session with Galp, 1-to-1 session with business experts, high-quality feedback to adjust pitch deck, pitch dry-run and business proposal review.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to all EIC companies working on innovative solutions related to energy transition, energy efficiency, and decarbonisation. Galp is particularly interested in innovations that align with at least one of the following focus areas:

  1. Hydrogen, biofuels, and sustainable fuels (e.g., Synthetic fuels to biofuels and renewable gases, HVO).
  2. Battery value chain (e.g., Battery chemistry technology, recycling, swapping and analytics).
  3. Smart mobility solutions (e.g., Connected and autonomous cars and service stations, smart charging infrastructures, and fleet management solutions).
  4. Renewable energies (e.g., Wind and solar energies, agrivoltaics, forecast and curtailment).
  5. Carbon capture (e.g., Subsea CO2 separation, DAC, energy storage, CCU, digitalisation and reduction of carbon emission).
  6. Energy and cost optimization (e.g., operation improvements, data optimisation, emission monitoring, storage optimisation, improved oil recovery, biometrics)

The EIC Business Acceleration Services team will contact all selected applicants once the process is finished. However, this contact does not include feedback or recommendations for those not selected. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by 21 June.

Commitment required:

Participants must be available for the entire duration of the programme, which includes the preparation phase (online training sessions, pitch checks, and business proposal reviews), the event days in Lisbon (July 17th-18th, 2024), and follow-up activities. Selected companies must be represented by C-level executives. Additionally, selected participants will be responsible for arranging and covering their travel and accommodation costs.
