Dr. Mátyás Szabó is a rural economist, policy expert at DG AGRI of the European Commission. He joined the Commission in2020 and he is responsible for social inclusion files in rural development policy.
Dr. Szabó is also an academically active person. Before joining the Commission's services, he was senior lecturer at the Corvinus University of Budapest and assistant Professor at ELTE University of Budapest. He is member of the Hungarian Society for Urban Planning, representing rural development issues in the Board. He holds a PhD in sociology, and he is also public body member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
