Perspectives for European Water Management Law

ERA (Florence Hartmann-Vareilles) in cooperation with Professor Reinhardt from the Institute for German and European Water Management Law

For the second time the Academy of European Law and the Institute for German and European Water Management Law at the University of Trier will organise an international conference on the challenges of modern European water management law.The conference of April 2008 showed that a European forum in which practitioners can discuss recent practical and theoretical developments in water management and policy is required. This conference will provide an overview of the current situation and future European legislative proposals. It will focus this year on cross-border cooperation in river basins, the relationship between water management law and nature conservation, issues raised by climate change, economic aspects related to the definition of water pricing policies, tax incentives and public procurement legislation.
