Plant-derived Sweeteners

This conference will provide you with the chance to learn about the new and emerging sweeteners, as well as how to overcome the technical challenges in formulating with plant-derived sweeteners.

The EU market for intense sweeteners is undergoing a period of radical change. Having traditionally been dominated by products such as aspartame, acesulfame K and saccharin, their position may be coming under threat as the trend towards all things natural continues. Plant-derived Sweeteners - New and Emerging Opportunities will provide you with the chance to learn about the new and emerging sweeteners, as well as how to overcome the technical challenges in formulating with plant-derived sweeteners, whilst the workshop will provide you with the opportunity to try some of these new and upcoming sweeteners. Day 1 will discuss established plant-derived sweeteners such as Thaumatin and Stevia as well as new products such as Monk Fruit. Exploring emerging products of the future, and covering aspects such as regulatory and safety as well as case studies, this event will provide a comprehensive overview of plant-derived sweeteners.A hands-on workshop on Day 2 will give delegates a unique opportunity to taste for themselves some of these new and upcoming sweeteners. Take a guided tour through the world of sensory perception, learn how to assess sweetener profiles and compare them in different product applications.           Conference BenefitsUp-to-the-minute information on the Regulatory trendsLatest news on Monk Fruit sweetenerNew and emerging sweeteners – what’s coming next?Learn how to overcome the technical challenges in formulating with plant-derived sweetenersUp-to-date research on consumer perceptionTaste for yourself in a sensory workshop    As the food industry embarks on a new stage in the evolution of sweeteners, this two-day event, chaired by Dr John Fry, consultant to Cargill Health and Nutrition, promises a first-class line-up of presentations from experts in their fields and an opportunity to taste for yourself in a hands-on workshop.
