Copenhagen is the chosen city to host the 2012 Annual Conference of the RHC-Platform & EHP, a joint event under the auspices of the Danish Presidency of the EU and financially supported by the European Commission in the framework of its grant agreement with the RHC-Platform.The 2012 edition will happen on 26-27 April and presents an attractive schedule that will cover a wide range of renewable resources, in particular biomass, geothermal and solar thermal, as well as cross-cutting technologies. The conference is organized by Euroheat & Power together with the European Technology Platform on Renewable Heating & Cooling (RHC-Platform).Experts from all sides of Europe will get together to discuss possible approaches for smart cities to make use of renewable energy and district heating and cooling in order to provide comfort and quality of life to their citizens and also to enhance the local economy. The aim is to support research, innovation and development. It will be possible to attend a plenary session on decarbonising the heating and cooling markets, parallel sessions on renewable heating and cooling as well as debates on technical issues, business models and urban planning. The Conference sessions and roundtable discussions will not only show-case best practice, but also allow participants to learn about latest developments in financing, market and technology developments, as well as legal framework conditions.The RHC Platform brings together, since 2008, all major European stakeholders from the biomass, geothermal and solar thermal sectors – including the related cross-cutting industries –to define a common strategy for increasing the use of renewable energy technologies for heating and cooling.Euroheat & Power is the international association representing the District Heating and Cooling (DHC) sector in Europe and beyond, covering all aspects related to District Heating and District Cooling and related energy sources and technologies including combined heat and power (CHP).
