Parenting support is an important and growing domain in professional practice, research and policy all over Europe. While parenting is in many respects private, it is also a social responsibility. More and more interventions are being introduced to support parents raising their children and governments introduce grants and schemes for supporting parents.Evidence starts to show that parenting support can make a difference and knowledge is made available through research on what works in parenting support. Parenting support concerns practitioners, decision makers and researchers, as well as parents. We will bring these disciplines together to discuss how parenting support contributes to better outcomes for children and parents.Eurochild and its partners the Netherlands Youth Institute, the University of Amsterdam and the Council of Europe are inviting to this timely conference, which is further supported by the Bernard van Leer foundation, the Netherlands organisation for health research and development, the city of the Hague and the Ministry of Health.
