Considerable gaps in access to the full range of modern contraceptive methods persist in Europe. The Barometer of Women's Access to Modern Contraceptive Choice, whose development was led by the International Planned Parenthood Federation European Network (IPPF EN), presents the findings of research on eight policy areas related to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and access to contraceptive choice in ten EU countries, namely Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Sweden. To launch the report, a meeting hosted by MEP Katarina Nevedalová will bring together country experts and leading advocates to discuss the findings and implications for national and European level policy. They will discuss best practices and policy options to respond to the unmet need for improved, equitable access to modern contraceptive methods, through consistent, targeted policies in a wide range of often interconnected areas, including education, training of healthcare professionals and service providers, reimbursement and gender equality.
