For the third consecutive year since 2012, the European Week of Bees and Pollinators will be taking place in the European Parliament under the patronage of Mr. Gaston Franco. It will be once again the occasion to raise awareness of policy-makers and the general public on the importance of bees and the precious service offered by pollinators at a time of operational application of the future common agricultural policy. This high-level conference organised by the sustainable development Intergroup in the European Parliament and partners will have the privilege to welcome for the second time in the European Parliament His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, whose Foundation leads an outstanding battle for the protection of biodiversity, and in particular of wild bees. The conference will seek to contribute to the assessment of the current state of bee health, present concrete and effective responses to improve the sanitary condition of the bee population, and coordinate actions at EU level in support of the beekeeping sector.
