Avoiding the Employee Misclassification Trap(HRCI - PHR/SPHR Certified) -

Overview: The Webinar will discuss methods to insure that employees are properly classified under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Why should you attend: Companies that are subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, which includes the majority of businesses in the US, should pay attention to the necessity of properly classifying employees as exempt employees. Making a mistake can cause companies to have to reclassify workers as and subsequently be required to pay back wages, taxes and penalties. Human Resources managers, Office Managers, and small and mid-size business owners need to be aware of the issues involved.Areas Covered in the Session:The major exemptionsMinor exemptionsThe Salary testThe Primary Duty testMatters of SignificanceIndependent judgementThe Safe HarborTracking timeLegal deductionsTypes of jobs that are exemptWho Will Benefit:HR ProfessionalsVP'sHR ManagersHR AdministratorsBusiness OwnersOffice ManagersSupervisorsMichael D.
