The Computer Research Unit of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) organizes its 2nd  Forum on Knowledge Computing in the Bio-Medical and Digital Health, 16-19 May 2016, Athens, Greece as part of the 12th Annual International Conference on Information Technology & Computer Science.The field of knowledge computing (KC) has become the most challenging area in the last several years. It is a multidisciplinary field of research and includes: document engineering, knowledge engineering, machine learning and reasoning techniques. Current research in KC in health sciences is marked by its richness. KC is a fast moving research field in many areas of life sciences, biological and medical sciences. The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers, practitioners, knowledge and software engineers to present their latest ideas and research in all areas of brain informatics, bioinformatics, medical informatics, mental informatics, nurse informatics, tele-health technologies, bioengineering, machine learning and artificial intelligence in health and life sciences. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Computational Intelligence in life sciences, Machine Learning in Big Biomedical Data Analytics, Knowledge Engineering in Health Sciences, Medical Informatics, Bio-Informatics, Brain Informatics, Mental Healthcare with ICT, Dentist Informatics, Clinical Informatics, Clinical Nutrition Informatics, Ontological Engineering in Biology and    Medicine, Computational Biology, Reasoning Methodologies in Health Care Planning, Intelligent Medical Decision Support Systems, Business Intelligence in Healthcare, Assistive Technologies to the Needs of the  Elderly and Disabled, Semantic Web in Biology and Medicine, Healthcare Education Simulation, Tele-health Activities and Technologies, International Projects.Special arrangements will be made with a local hotel for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. In addition, a number of special events will be organized: A Greek night of entertainment with dinner, a special one-day cruise to selected Greek islands, an archaeological tour of Athens and a one-day visit to Delphi.
