Excessive and inappropriate use of antibiotics and poor infection control practices have progressively turned antimicrobial resistance into a massive threat for humankind. The pipeline of new antibiotics is almost dry and patients are facing an alarming public health concern, without having a working treatment for their disease. A coherent, comprehensive and integrated approach at all levels of government, involving different actors and sectors is needed. Fostering innovative solution as rapid diagnostic technologies plays is a key to reduce antibiotic misuse and abuse. The EP Interest group is delighted to invite you to a roundtable discussion on the role of innovative diagnostic technologies to tackle antimicrobial resistance.
