Europaforum Northern Sweden cordially invites you to the seminar “Swedish Forest Management and the Bioeconomy”, November 28, 2017 at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the EU, ;
The forest-based industry is one of the most important sectors for Sweden and Europe. Forest is the basis for sustainable industrial and energy production and forest biomass is found in most countries. New bio-based products, plastic, textiles and fuels from the forest can significantly contribute to EU’s Climate and Energy targets including the security of supply of energy and to achieve the EU's goal of a developed bioeconomy.
Representatives from regional and national levels in Sweden, European institutions, industry and NGOs will share knowledge and engage in debates on sustainable forest management, climate change mitigation and the growth of forest-based industries emphasizing in particular the importance of the Bioeconomy for regional growth in the sparsely populated areas in Northern Sweden.
Please register online by the latest November 24, 2017. You will receive a confirmation of your registration prior to the event. We look forward to receiving your registration and to welcoming you on November 28, 2017.
