This is a hybrid discussion co-organised by the CER and the WifOR Institute on 'EU fiscal policy: Is health a no-brainer public investment?', kindly supported by MSD.

The discussion will consider the following questions: As member-states start drafting and implementing their multi-year fiscal plans, which health investments should they prioritise? Does the EU's new fiscal framework sufficiently cater for public health as a critical public investment? And what is the role of the EU budget and the pandemic recovery fund in boosting public health? 

Our speakers will begin the event by making some opening remarks, after which Hatice Küçük Beton, Executive Director of The G20 Health and Development Partnership, will moderate a discussion held under the Chatham House ;Refreshments will be served for in-person attendees from 15:00 and the discussion will run from 15:30-17:00 Brussels time. We will then have a reception.
