Richard Copland has a strong portfolio career. He is a founder of The Future Shapers: A global network of thought-leaders, innovation practitioners, business leaders, academics and speakers who have come together
with the aim of helping businesses and other organisations to shape and create innovative futures. He is a corporate entrepreneur and active member in all stages of the UK and European innovation ecosystem, including Innovate UK, Office of Government Science, think tanks, investment syndicates, and industry forums. Over twenty years of international corporate experience in technology and finance sectors, he brings a proven track record in business creation and innovation, winning and closing complex contacts, client management, project turnaround,
strong people management and communication skills. He is the former innovation and emerging technology director for CGI UK. He operates at the CxO level advising, leading, and commercialising multi-million dollar
technology service new business ventures. He operates across all sectors
and is currently bringing to life a digital bank using mobile technologies
and a next generation process robotics solution. Prior to joining CGI,
Richard has worked in academia in Australia and UK, designed financial
reporting service centres for Barclays, as well as working in the consumer
electronics and gaming industries with Sony and Nintendo.
